He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Edward Armentrout and Mary Ellen Bullock Armentrout; his brother Jerry Wayne Armentrout; and his stepchildren, Johnny Spangler and Joan Green.
He is survived by: his wife Irene Armentrout; his son Billy Armentrout (April) of Winston Salem; his stepchildren, James Williams (June) of Lawsonville, Troy Spangler of High Point and Julie Harrelson of Fairmont; and his sisters, Nancy Hunt of High Point and Cheryl Grogan of Kernersville. He is also survived by seventeen grandchildren.
