He was predeceased by: his parents, William Ray Nifong and Mary Mae Clodfelter Nifong; his wife Nancy Carol Hughes Nifong; his son Phil Nifong; and his siblings, Theople Nifong and Bobby Lee Nifong.
He is survived by: his daughter JoAnna Hicks (Greg) of Thomasville; his brother William Ray Nifong, Jr. (Carol Ann) of Orlando, FL; his grandchildren, Gabriel, Marie, Joshua, Steven Hicks and Amy Lee; and his great grandchildren, Rayne, Alec, Victoria, Abby, Ayla, Amara Hicks, Wyatt Grimm, Dalton and Ava Lee.
