John Harvey Sharpe Jr. Obituary
Mr. John Harvey Sharpe, Jr., 76, of High Point, passed away on Wednesday, February 21, 2024 at his home. He was born on July 14, 1947 in Richland County, SC to John Harvey Sharpe, Sr. and Eloise Taylor Whitmire. He was a truck driver for several years.
He was an avid Elvis Presley fan and took care of everyone around him and was "The Rock" of his family. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Martha Curles.
Surviving is his wife of 35 years, Dale Ann Chavis Sharpe of the home; also surviving are his children, Johnny Sharpe, Terry Lee Sharpe, Charles Oscar (Butch) McMillon, Barbara Ann Johnson and husband Robert, Betty Jo Hodges and husband Mark, Linda Kay Padgett, Mary McMillon, and Missy Sharpe; sister, Patricia Lee; many grandchildren, including granddaughter, Angel Payne; and numerous great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 24, 2024 at 4:00 PM at the J.C. Green & Sons Funeral Home Chapel in Thomasville with Pastor Josh Sands officiating, The family will greet friends on Saturday one hour prior to the service at the funeral home from 3:00 PM – 4:00 PM. A private inurnment will be held at a later date.
