He was predeceased by: his parents, James "Jimmy" Nance and Eunice "Ruby" Nance; his brothers, James Nance and Ellis Nance; his niece Quatisha Nance; and his nephew James Martin.

He is survived by: his siblings, Gloria Bostic (Charles), Darlene Nance, Mary Nance Cribb of High Point, NC, Deborah Nance (Clarence) of Greensboro, NC and Robert Nance (Pie) of Greensboro, NC; his grandmother Eloise Whitworth of High Point, NC; and his cousin Ronnie Medley. He is also survived by other relatives and friends.
