She was predeceased by: her children, William Lee Hackaday, II, Kathie Lee Shelton and Jennifer Nicole Smith; and her stepfather Maurice Roy Mabe. She is survived by: her daughters, Jodi Shelton of Mesa, AZ and Mae Polston of Cavecreek, AZ; her mother Zora "Sue" Mabe of High Point, NC; her siblings, Dawn Mabe of High Point, NC, Cynthia Mabe Essalim (El Bachir) of Thomasville, NC and Marlan Mabe (Karen) of High Point, NC.; her grandchildren, John Damien Bracey, Marissa Badillo, Christopher Entsminger, Ryan Golino and Wyatt Burkey; her great grandchild Luna Noelle Entsminger; her daughter Dena Powers (Jason Varner); and her grandchildren, Eadon Powers of Greensboro, NC., Teagan Smith of Greensboro, NC. and Simon Varner of Greensboro, NC.. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the United Cerebral Palsy organization.
