He was predeceased by: his parents, Lawrence Edward Dorsett, Sr. and Evelyn Virginia Motsinger Dorsett. He is survived by: his daughters, Molly Slate (Brian) of Wallburg, Emily Dorsett of Thomasville and Jenny Dorsett (Brennen Duncan) of Thomasville; his grandchildren, Ethan Reed and McRae Slate; his siblings, David Dorsett (Anne) and Jane Dorsett; and his former wife Sheila Kearns Dorsett.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Hospice of the Piedmont.
