She was predeceased by: her parents, Leamon Carteret and Fannie Carteret; and her brother LaWood Carteret. She is survived by: her sons, Michael Stegenga (Lori) of Trinity, Rodney Stegenga (Becky) of Thomasville and Anthony Stegenga (Tammy) of Trinity; her siblings, Ben Carteret (Geraldine) of Lake Waccamaw and Joyce Duncan of Chadbourn; and her grandchildren, Joshua, Ashley, Jordan, Andrew, Derek and Jacob Stegenga. She is also survived by eight great-grandchildren; and many extended family.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 21st 2026 at 10:00 AM at the Chapel of Cumby Family Funeral Service (206 Trindale Rd, Archdale, NC 27263). A celebration of life will be held on Wednesday, October 21st 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial will be held on Wednesday, October 21st 2026 at 4:00 PM at the Cape Fear Memorial Park (4763 Southport-Supply Rd SE, Southport, NC 28461).
