She was predeceased by: her parents, Hugh Crouch and Hattie Smith Crouch; her husband Ray Poteat; and her brothers, Earl Crouch, Glenn Crouch and Dan Crouch.
She is survived by: her daughters, Beverly Whisnant Ferguson (Steve) and Kimberly Whisnant Rogers (Chris); her granddaughters, Hannah and Madeline Rogers; her siblings, Jim Crouch and Ruth Mayberry; and her grandchildren, Patricia Elaine Decker, Donald Ray Poteat, Casey Poteat and Adam Decker.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 24th 2026 from 10:30 AM to 11:15 AM at the St James Lutheran Church (1942 St James Church Rd, Newton, NC 28658). A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, October 24th 2026 at 11:30 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St. James Lutheran Church at 1942 St. James Church Rd Newton NC 28658.
