It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Margaret Mitchell of High Point, North Carolina, who passed away on December 18, 2020, at the age of 92, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Ernest Batten and Carrie Stroud Batten; and her husband Joseph Houston Mitchell, Jr.. She is survived by: her siblings, Charles Batten, John Batten, Lillie Mae Gregory and Helen Hamilton; her daughters, Amerilous Dian Mitchell, Jane Herron (Jim) of Dunnellon, Cathey Haywood (Gary) of High Point and Patsy Foxworth (David) of High Point; her grandchildren, Quinn H. Coffey, Ryan P. Haywood, Garrett L. Haywood and Carrie F. Bowers (Whitney F. Simpson); her great grandchildren, Julianna G. Haywood, Lawson H. Haywood, Elin A. Bowers, Harper L. Bowers, Reid M. Simpson and Blake E. Simpson; her sister-in-law Mittie Batten Lomax; her nieces, Peggy Ruddock and Faye Groves; and also Dot Landrum.

The family will speak with friends immediately following the service. **Masks and social distancing are requested at the service and visitation**.

Barbara Rawson wrote a sympathy message

“Patsy, I am so very sorry for the recent loss of your sweet Mother, Margaret. I remember her well from living up the street and always enjoyed being in her company. What a wonderful neighborhood we had. Thanks for all the times you looked after Brad and Bobby for Howard and me - you were always great with the boys - I surely miss our happy life on Woodview.
