She was predeceased by: her parents, Howell Birdsall and Ellanor Champlin Birdsall; her husband Lawrence Cairns; her stepdaughter Teresa Hauser; and her sister Betty Hood.

She is survived by: her children, Kathleen MacArthur, Suzanne Pavlos, Nancy Ann Donahue, Joanne Maxey and Mathew Cairns; and her stepsons, Michael Cairns and Roger Cairns. She is also survived by six grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.
