Phyllis Newton Efird Obituary
With solemn reverence, we commemorate Phyllis Newton Efird of High Point, North Carolina, whose life came to an end on April 26, 2025 at the age of 98, leaving behind cherished memories. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Jesse Raymond Newton and Tempy Annarvell Sink Newton; and her husband L. H. Efird. She is survived by: her daughter Amber McRee (Curry); her grandchildren, Jeremy Johnson (Brandi), Anna McRee, Katie Hess (Zack) and Dawn Guffey (Dave); her great grandchildren, Audrey, Charlotte Guffey, Logan, Amelia Johnson, Wyatt, Ada and Isla Hess; and her brother Percy Newton (Polly). She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 30th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Westchester Baptist Church (135 Westchester Dr, High Point, NC 27262). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 1st 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location. A committal service will be held on Thursday, May 1st 2025 at 3:00 PM at the Floral Garden Park Cemetery (1730 W English Rd, High Point, NC 27262).
In lieu of flowers, Phyllis requested that donations be made to the Building Fund at Westchester Baptist Church, P.O. Box 5188, High Point, NC 27262.
