He was predeceased by: his mother Annie Hanes; his wife Carole Huskins Hanes; and his brothers, Doug Hanes and Orien Hanes. He is survived by: his son David Hanes (Carol Ann); his grandchildren, Callie Zeigler (Jonathan), Kirsten Jones (Graham) and Chanley Bates (Eric); and his great grandchildren, Bethany, Lauren, Titus, Hunter, Corlyn, Baby and Jones.
