She was predeceased by: her parents, William Thomas Peatross and Dorothy Ray Peatross; and her brother Norman Scott Peatross. She is survived by: her husband Jerry Koontz; her children, Ted Koontz (Mitzi) and Mary Gillis (Jonathan); her granddaughters, Hannah Robertson (Murray), Salem Gillis, Mya Koontz, Charlotte Gillis and Palah Gillis; and her great grandchild Duncan Robertson.
A graveside service was held on Friday, September 26th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Guilford Memorial Park Cemetery (6000 W Gate City Blvd, Greensboro, NC 27407).
