He was predeceased by: his parents, Russell Frederick and Edith Whicker Brendle; his sister JoAnne Hill; and his son Rod Brendle. He is survived by: his wife Ann Brendle; his daughter Kim; his children-in-law, John Vernon of High Point and Melba Price Brendle of Wallburg; his grandchildren, Travis Vernon and Kyle Vernon (Hillary); his stepgranddaughter Tracie Rich Heavner; his great grandchildren, Sadie Vernon, Millie Vernon, Nora Vernon and Malachi Vernon; and his stepgreat-grandchildren, Devin Caudle (Summer), Kaylee Heavner, Carson Heavner and Maxton Caudle.
