Ruth Elizabeth Gilmore Thompson, born on September 26, 1940, passed away on September 12, 2026. Ruth leaves behind family members and others who acknowledge this loss. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Grady Mae Gilmore and Rosa Lee Honeycutt Gilmore; her husband Carl Conley Thompson; and her siblings, Sylvia Johnson, Louise Hepler, Wanda Summey and Grady "Big Boy" Gilmore.
She is survived by: her sons, Brad Thompson and Kent Thompson (Robin); her grandchildren, Nick Thompson, Josh Thompson (Morgan) and McKayla Thompson (Chase Foster); her siblings, Gloria DeHart and Larry "Buddy" Gilmore; and her great grandchildren, Ryan, Arianna, Isabella, Isla Thompson and Kohen Foster. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 27th 2026 from 1:30 PM to 2:45 PM at the Clear Vision Church (Formerly Park Place Baptist Church) (201 Kern St, Thomasville, NC 27360). A memorial service will be held on Sunday, September 27th 2026 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in her memory to Hospice of the Piedmont and the Westchester Manor Activity Fund, 1795 Westchester Drive, High Point, NC 27262.
