He was predeceased by: his brothers, Byron Tompkins and Bob Tompkins. He is survived by: his wife Sabrina Tompkins; his children, Sammy Tompkins, Jr. (Shelley) of Thomasville, Christopher Tompkins of Archdale, Chasity Cantelmo (Andrew) of Burlington, Doris Jean Tompkins of High Point and Emily Ann Tompkins of Archdale; and his siblings, James Tompkins (Tammy) of Badin Lake and Cynthia Tompkins of Badin Lake. He is also survived by seven grandchildren.
