He is survived by: his parents, Max Oakley and Becky Oakley of High Point; his children, Max Oakley II of High Point and Camille Oakley of High Point; his siblings, Cindy Oakley of High Point and Stewart Oakley of Hickory; and his nieces, Brielle and Chloe Oakley.

Memorials may be directed to Guilford County Animal Shelter at 4525 W. Wendover Ave. Greensboro, NC 27409 or to the HPU Scholarship Fund in honor of Scott Oakley.
