She was loved and cherished by many people including: her mother Harriet Marion Powell; her siblings, Sharon Colbert (James), Harriet Marcella McNeil, Herbert Powell (Mia), Consuelo Rominski and Rosemary Powell; her friend Patricia Hill; her siblings, Sherfield Hill and Sing "June" Crawford; her children, Marion Denise Powell and Dennis Powell (Lucille); her grandchildren, Dashanique Carter (Lawrence), Kavon Coleman, Sierra Powell, Denzell Powell, Tindale Powell, Skyla Powell, Tyheem and Terrell Fluker; her great grandchildren, Kamora and Nasir; her sister Betty Boggan; her nieces and nephews, Christina, Ivory, Maggie, Stephanie, Natesha, Brandy, Charity, Shannon "Boo", Sterling, Shaune, Eric and Aaron; and her cousins, Marie, Ruby and Lakeisha.
