It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Sylvia Passavant in High Point, North Carolina, who passed away on September 2, 2020, at the age of 79, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Howard Jackson and Ruth Alliene Varner Younts; her husband Alfred "Al" Passavant; her son Gene Austin Byerly, Jr.; her stepdaughter Gwen Pearce; her sister Janice Myers; and her nephew Joshua George.

She is survived by: her daughter-in-law Mary Byerly of White Lake; her stepdaughter Paige Passavant; her sisters, Lynne Tuggle (Don) of Trinity and Deborah Thompson (Ken) of Trinity; her niece Jennifer Hinson (Joey); her grandchildren, Izzy and Elle Hinson; and also Sylvia.

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, friends are asked to wear masks and practice appropriate social distancing.
