He was predeceased by: his parents, Clifford Brookshire and Leona Pierce Brookshire; his wife Peggy Wallace Brookshire; and his sons, Billy Brookshire and Terry Brookshire.
He is survived by: his children, Jeffrey Brookshire (Jenn) of Lexington and Susan Robertson (Randy) of High Point; and his sisters, Linda Canter of Sophia and Becky Outen of Asheboro. He is also survived by five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
