He is survived by: his wife Patricia Lee Buerger Sanford; his children, Kevin (Bee Leng) of Thomasville and Kathryn E. Marshall (Patrick) of Winston Salem; and his grandsons, Wade Marshall (Jamie O'Shea) and Nicholas Sanford.
