He was predeceased by: his parents, Albert Cosner and Achie Mae Cosner; his stepfather Robert "Dolan" Walker; and his siblings, Alvilda Ramsey, Lavonda Ramsey and Terrell Cosner.
He is survived by: his wife Wilma Riggs Cosner; his sons, William Cosner (Lynn Smith) of Jacksonville, Michael Cosner (April) of Archdale and Matthew Cosner (Laura) of Eagle Springs; and his grandchildren, Mary Margaret, David, Stephen and Kayleigh. He is also survived by several cousins, nieces, nephews, and many friends.
