She was predeceased by : her parents, A. C. Patterson and Edna James Patterson; her former life partner Hoyt Vinson; and her son Tom Vinson. She is survived by : her husband Walter Taylor; her brother James Patterson (Hilda); her daughters, Margaret Bryson, Sandy Vinson, Dianne Taylor and Melinda Musumarra (Paul); her daughter-in-law Karen Vinson; her grandchildren, Josh Bryson (Carrie), Elizabeth Baker (Michael), Mark Musumarra (Rachiel) and Barbara Childress (Ryan); and her great grandchildren, Maddie Coen, Emmie Wedge, Madeline Baker and Harrison Baker. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Dryman's Chapel Church, First Baptist Church of Highlands, and Highlands United Methodist Church JOY Group.
