She was predeceased by: her parents, Dewey Nix and Lillian Owens Nix; and her sister Lucille Nix Wilson (Bruce Monroe Nix). She is survived by: her husband William Joseph Lowe; her daughters, Rhonda Lowe (Dennis Francis) and Beverly Hopps (Bryan); her grandchildren, Jeffrey Britt (Beth), Justin Hopps (Cana), Katlyn Hopps and Morgan Koch (Jack); her great grandchild Maevery Sloane; her aunt Inez Owens Leslie; and her niece Lisa. She is also survived by cousins, nieces, nephews, and in-laws.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, September 16th 2026 from 12:30 PM to 2:00 PM at the Shortoff Baptist Church (11339 Buck Creek Rd, Highlands, NC 28741). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, September 16th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Wednesday, September 16th 2026 at the Highlands Memorial Park Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Shortoff Baptist Church or Four Seasons Hospice Foundation.
