Though Helen may no longer walk beside us, her memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Helen touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. She was predeceased by: her parent Osha Herman Smith; her husband James Evans; her grandson Daniel Allen Evans; and her sister Hazel Smith Wilson. She is survived by: her children, Larry Evans (Martha) of Hildebran and Rita Evans Russell; and her grandsons, Michael Derrick Russell (Emily) of Connelly Springs, Rev. Cody M. Evans (Ashlee) of Wake Forest and Casey R. Evans (Holly) of New Orleans, LA. She is also survived by five great-grandsons.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Hildebran and Carolina Caring of Newton.
