It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Daniel Walter Hancock in Hillsborough, North Carolina, who passed away on September 27, 2025, at the age of 82, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Curtis Mullins Hancock and Annie Hicks Hancock; his son Jonathan Daniel Hancock; and his former wife Patricia O'Connell Hancock. He is survived by: his granddaughters, Lila and Adeline of Nashville, NC; his sisters, Donna Lea Hancock of Emporia, VA and Gayle Chapman of Gerrardstown, WV; and his friend Gail Slininger. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 3rd 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Wood Funeral Service (28868 VA-49, Chase City, VA 23924).
