He is survived by: his parents, Clint Merritt and Melissa Merritt; his sisters, Samantha Merritt (Thomas McCabe) and Meghan Merritt; his grandmother Joyce Newton; his stepmother Diana Merritt; and his aunts and uncles, Jason Merritt (Heather), Ronnie Merritt (Jennifer), Kristal Dilling and Becky Howell.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 1st 2026 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the First Baptist Church (201 E King St, Hillsborough, NC 27278). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 1st 2026 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to Orange County Animal Shelter located at 1601 Eubanks Road, Chapel Hill, NC 27516.
