She was predeceased by: her parents, Clarence Irvin Walters and Minnie Davis Walters; and her husband Henry Thomas Pope, Sr.. She is survived by: her children, Henry Thomas Pope, Jr. (Rhonda), Candi Pope Griffin and Melanie Pope Liner (Chip); her grandchildren, Lauren Triplett (David), Henry "Trey" Thomas Pope, III, Kate Griffin and Sydney Liner (Matthew Shiplett); and her great grandchildren, Mayci Triplett, Clayton Triplett and Bennett Triplett.
A graveside service was held on Wednesday, September 23rd 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Hillsborough Town Cemetery (115 E Corbin St, Hillsborough, NC 27278).
Flowers are welcome, or memorial contributions may be made in Sue Walters Pope's honor to First Baptist Church of Hillsborough.
