We announce the death of Alvah Price Monds (Hobbsville, North Carolina), born in Greensboro, North Carolina, who passed away on July 18, 2026, at the age of 79. Alvah will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. He was predeceased by: his adoptive parents, Riley Sidney Monds, Jr., Frances Fowler Monds and Hertford; and his wife Betty Faye Ralph Rountree. He is survived by: his brother John Perry Monds; his stepchildren, Frankie Carr (Randy), Terri L. Riddick (J. B.) and Lester Ralph "Les" Rountree (Mandy); his stepgrandchildren, Brooklyne Garrett (Blake), Gage Riddick (Anne-Logan), Hayden Riddick, Blake Rountree and Cole Rountree; and his great grandchild Nixon Garrett.
