With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Charlene Y. Walker (Hobbsville, North Carolina), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on July 17, 2025 at the age of 38. In the soft embrace of remembrance, we recall the profound impact Charlene had on those she encountered along her journey. Though Charlene may have slipped beyond the veil of mortality, her essence lingers like a faint fragrance in the air, a lingering reminder of the beauty and complexity of the human experience.
She was predeceased by: her grandmother Martha Leach. She is survived by: her parents, Charles Walker and Paula Walker; her grandparents, Miriam Walker and Tracey Lane (Margaret); her daughter Harmony Gatling; her siblings, LaShonda Walker and Shawanda Smith (Michael); and her siblings' children, Kaylee Lane, Gracie Smith and Warren Smith III.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 24th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Community of Hope Funeral Service (357 Hobbsville Rd, Hobbsville, NC 27946). A celebration of life will be held on Friday, July 25th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the St. Paul Baptist Church (60 St Paul Ln, Sunbury, NC 27979).
