He was predeceased by: his parents, Roy E. Sanders and Gertrude Hobbs Sanders (Betty J. Sanders); his sister Lena Sanders Ritter; his brother-in-law Graham Ritter; and his pets, Blackie, Coke, Marmaduke, Rufus, Max, Chester and Misty.

He is survived by: his wife Betty Banton; his daughters, Sheila Sanders Holland (Kenneth) and Tina Sanders-Hill (Richard); and his grandchildren, Katie Holland Smith (Dallas), Henry Hill and Susannah Hill.
