He was predeceased by: his parents, Cober Burge and Dorothy Carter; his siblings, Joyce Wilkinson (Chuck), Jack Burge and Trent Burge (Mary); and his daughter Carol Jean.
He is survived by: his wife Barbara Burge of Hope Mills; his son Scott Burge (Elizabeth) of Wilmington; his siblings-in-law, Jeanette Haynes of Raleigh and Kenneth Westbrook (Martha) of Newton Grove; his grandchildren, Bret Horne of Asheville, Robin Williams (Marcus) of Magnolia, Candice Krasuski (Steve) of Smithfield and Alis Burge of Wilmington; and his great grandchildren, Glenn and Silas Krasuski of Smithfield. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be given to Mary's Chapel Missionary Baptist Church - 2311 Keener Rd. Clinton, NC 28328.
