She was predeceased by: her parents, David Staton Hardy and Hilda Elizabeth Hardy Bunch; her brother David Staton Hardy Jr.; her son Ebb Charles Cross Jr.; and her close friend Cecil Williams.
She is survived by: her sister Nancy Woodard of Virginia; her children, Hilda Kay Cross of Virginia and Mitchell Hyman Cross (Angela) of North Carolina; her grandchildren, Charles Cross (Emily) of North Carolina, Michael Cross (Ashley) of North Carolina, Katherine Cross of Oregon, Jonathan Cross (Abby) of North Carolina and Aidan Cross of Oregon; and her friend Sylvia Berney. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, great-grandchildren, and grand pups.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, October 17th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Lighthouse Baptist Church (5991 Rockfish Rd, Hope Mills, NC 28348).
