With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Rennie Johnson Jr. of Hope Mills, North Carolina, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. Rennie left this world on July 20, 2025 at the age of 81, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. Though Rennie may no longer walk beside us, his memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Rennie touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In his absence, his spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Rennie Johnson, Sr. and Louie Collins Johnson; his son John Rudolph Johnson; and his brothers, Bennie Johnson and Ronnie Johnson.
He is survived by: his wife Sylvia Matthews Johnson; his children, Tammy Brown of Shallotte, NC, Phillip Johnson (Debbie) of Fayetteville, NC and Samantha Smith (Lee) of Boiling Springs, NC.; and his sister Jeanette Daniels of Supply, NC.. He is also survived by 5 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, and 1 great great-grandchild.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 24th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Pinecrest Funeral & Cremation Services (4721 Dunrobin Dr, Hope Mills, NC 28348). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 24th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Thursday, July 24th 2025 from 2:15 PM to 3:15 PM at the Rockfish Memorial Park (4017 Gillespie St, Fayetteville, NC 28306).
