We announce the death of Royal Smith of Hope Mills, North Carolina, who passed away on October 6, 2026, at the age of 65. Royal will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. Royal’s absence will be deeply felt by those who valued his companionship.
He is survived by: his daughter Danielle Davis of Coats; his mother Thelma Kelly of Hope Mills; and his siblings, Gary Smith of Hope Mills, Debra Murphy (Floyd) of Hope Mills and David Earl Kelly of Hope Mills.
Viewing will be held on Saturday, October 10th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Union Oak AME Zion Church (6544 US-301, Parkton, NC 28371). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 10th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
