He was predeceased by: his parents, Leslie Dickerson and Elva Mauck Dickerson; his wife Shirley Ann Dickerson; his daughter Bonnie Hammond; his grandchildren, Ryan and Stephanie; and his sisters, Evelyn Moss and Rebecca Dickerson.
He is survived by: his sister Marge McNulty; and his nieces and nephews, Timothy Allen Dickerson (Cheryl), Elva Mae Barrick (Brian), Tracy Jones (Berry) of Jacksonville, NC, Curtis Richardson of Hubert, NC, Patricia Burmeister and Nicky Krajacic of Peletier, NC. He is also survived by 17 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Wounded Warrior Project or a charity of one's choice.
