It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Wanda Louise Short of Hubert, North Carolina, born in Madison, Illinois, who passed away on March 4, 2026, at the age of 97, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was loved and cherished by many people including: her significant other David E. Short; her parents, Myra B. Gantt (Potter) and Henry Clinton Gantt; her children, David R. Short (Katherine) of Swansboro and Robin McClendon (Ray); her grandchildren, Drew Short (Kate) of Beaufort, Margaret Wiesemann (Chris) of Durham, Marcus Campbell (Natalia) of Austin, Texas and Michael Campbell (Jennifer Cook) of Chapel Hill; her great grandchildren, Noble, Darby of Beaufort, Liam of Durham, Lillian and Koen of Austin; and her sister Charlotte McKinney of Illinois.
