He was predeceased by : his parents, Daniel Walker Redding, Sr. and Ella Lois Craver Redding; and his brother David Jon Redding. He is survived by : his wife Anita Mock Redding; his sons, Daniel Philip Redding (Carly) of Charlotte, Jonathan David Redding and Thomas Marshall Redding (Tiffani) of Charlotte; his grandson Dylan Redding; and his sister Mary Ann Redding (Aunt Bird) of Winston-Salem.

“Sorry for your loss, Chap always made me laugh and was a wonderful friend. I won't never forget when he invited me back to have a piece of his birthday cake the inmates had baked for him, it was huge and was like a block of cement but was decorated pretty and the inmates were so proud. Chap always spoke highly of his wife and boys he was so proud of his family. He also loved another who saved his life who he called his son. This man is a better man today because of Chap's love, Debbie Icenhour”
