She was predeceased by : her father Hartley Hunt Conley; her husband Joe S. Everhardt; and her son Richard Sumpter. She is survived by : her daughter Renee Sumpter Moriarty (Joe) of Hudson; her brothers, Larry Conley of Gallatin and Tenn (Roger Conley); and her grandchildren, Kaitlin J. Fann, Alec J. Moriarty, James L. Fann (Anna), Taylor Sumpter, Jessica Sumpter and Anna Sumpter. She is also survived by four great-grandchildren.

Eddie "Woodshed Ed" Tapper wrote a sympathy message

“Renee, I am so sorry to read of Linda's passing. She was such a sweet lady, a kind and loving soul. She will forever be my "Mom for a Day" from Ft. Jackson, S. C. when she signed me out for family visitation when she signed Richard out. We (Richard and I) had a great visit during that 4-hour off-post pass. They took us to Quincy's Steakhouse, our first "Real Food" since either of us had left home for basic training. Linda and I become friends from the time she was my "Mom for a Day". RIP Mom.”
