He was predeceased by: his parents, Orville Carder and Clara Carder; and his brothers, Jim and Kenny. He is survived by: his wife Diana; his children, Alicia Fritz (Jeremy) and Ryan Carder (Sarah); and his grandchildren, Carter Fritz, Caden Fritz, Jacob Carder and Olivia Carder.

A gifted athlete throughout his life, Jerry's contributions to basketball earned him induction into five Halls of Fame.
