He was predeceased by: his parents, C. Glenn Watson and Ruth Jane Watson (Rinker); and his sister Judith Ann Shields. He is survived by: his wife Kimberly Ann Watson; his sons, Ashton Bryan Watson (Kelly), Evan John Watson and Bryan; his grandchildren, Ashton Watson II, Heath Watson, Parks Watson and Collins Watson; his brothers-in-law, Albert "Tad" Shields and John Schroyer (Cathy); and his nieces and nephews, Brent Mendelson (Jeanne), Blair Shields (Ginna), Brendan Shields, Chrissa Cheverchko (Eric) and Callie Rullie (John). He is also survived by 3 great nieces & 3 great nephews.
Visitation was held on Friday, August 28th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Kepner Funeral Home (16901 Old Statesville Rd, Huntersville, NC 28078). A memorial service was held on Friday, August 28th 2026 at 7:00 PM at the same location.
