He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Knighten and Frances Candler Knighten; and his wife Betty Ann. He is survived by: his children, Rebecca Hollingsworth (Joe) of Cornelius, NC and Jack Douglas Knighten (Carroll) of Charlotte, NC; his grandchildren, Marshall Hollingsworth (Jessica), Anna Brown, Drew Knighten (CJ) and Susan Cotney (Trey); and his great grandchildren, Lula Hollingsworth, Mac Brown, Jackson, Hunter, Austin Knighten and Charlie Cotney.
