With sadness, we share the passing of Nancy Wertz Lawing (Huntersville, North Carolina). Nancy, born on December 26, 1938 in Ware Shoals, South Carolina, passed away on September 30, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, James Emerson and Marjorie Griffith Wertz; her brother James Raymond Wertz; and her son William "Bill" Dennis Lawing, III. She is survived by: her husband William Dennis Lawing Jr.; her brother Larry (Joyce); her sons, Scott (Claire) and Bruce (Julia); her grandchildren, Nick (Anne), Chelsea (Jack), Chandler, Lydia (Matt), Emma and Claire; and her great grandchildren, Violet and Reed. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, and great nieces.
A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, October 8th 2026 at 3:00 PM at the Hopewell Presbyterian Church (10500 Beatties Ford Rd, Huntersville, NC 28078).
