He was predeceased by: his parents, Ervin Quitman and Mittie Jane Bumgardner Caldwell; his wife Eva Wright Caldwell; and his siblings, Ray Caldwell, Louise Barkley, Jennie Barkley, Frances Perry, Clifton Caldwell, Margaret Ward, Merle Barnette, Helen Gilbert and Jane McAllister.

He is survived by: his daughters, Pat Caldwell Lowrance and Anita Caldwell McDaniel (Marty); his grandchildren, Jerray Barnette Efird, Seth Caldwell Lowrance (Amy), Amanda Barnette Brown (Daniel) and Evan Brice Lowrance; his great grandchildren, Eli Lowrance, Chase Lowrance, Elaina Efird, Fischer Brown, Emma Jeanne and Littie Brown; and his siblings-in-law, Phyllis Caldwell, Mary Alice Putt, Joyce Wright, Peggy Wright, JD Wright, Micheal Wright (Shirley) and Earl Brown. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
