He is survived by: his children, Mercedes Amos of Newport News, Virginia, Latricia Smith (Christopher) of Mebane and Maurice Sampson of Roxboro; his grandchildren, Mercel Smith of Roxboro, Donavyn Thomas of Chicago, Jase Sergi of Mebane, Niklaus Luca Sergi of Mebane, Kali Sampson of Burlington, Maurice Sampson, II of Roxboro, Zariyah Powell of South Boston, Virginia of Roxboro, Carmello Sampson of Roxboro, Tatum Sampson of Roxboro, Christopher Sergi of Belleview, Florida and Gabriella Sergi of Belleview, Florida; his great grandchild Ki'Yier Isaiah Ziro Smith of Raleigh; and his siblings, Betty Ann Clayton of High Point, Henry Bernard Smith (Brenda) of Hurdle Mills, Ronnie E. Smith of Newport News, Sherion E. Winstead of Roxboro, Willie Smith (Joyce) of Newport News, Bud Smith (Debra) of High Point and Sharron Stewart of Roxboro. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, other loving relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 26th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at 1251 Wheelers Church Rd, Hurdle Mills, NC 27541. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 26th 2026 at 12:00 PM at the Lattisville Grove Missionary Baptist Church (1701 Jimmy Ed Rd E, Hurdle Mills, NC 27541).
