It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Ruth Coates of Hurdle Mills, North Carolina, who passed away on December 10, 2025, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, William Taft Childress, Sr. and Edna Womack Childress; her husband Jimmy Rogers Coates; her daughters, Jennifer Darlene Bryant and Kimberly Coates Wrenn; and her siblings, Margaret Stone, Juanita Murray, Katie Harris, William Childress, Floyd "Shag" Childress and Bobby Childress.
She is survived by: her grandchildren, Candice Bryant, Brandon Coates (Ruth) and Christopher Bryant (Nedra); and her sisters, Marion Wesley and Debra Stoner (Randy). She is also survived by seven great-grandchildren.
