She was predeceased by: her father Leonard J. Steen; her former husband Leonard J. Steen; her stepson David Steen; her brother John A. Olbis; her sister-in-law Caroline Faber Olbis; and her niece Karen Olbis.
She is survived by: her husband Len; her stepchildren, Paul Steen (Michelle) of Padre Island, Texas, Leonard Steen Jr. of New Jersey, Maggi Ware (Bob) of New Jersey and Francesca Steen of Louisiana; her grandchildren, Sheridan, Nicolai Steen, Sara Schunk and Will Herndon; and her great grandchildren, Bryan and Callum Ware.
In 1995, she was inducted into the GSDCA Roll of Honor, a lifetime achievement recognizing exceptional contributions to the breed.
