He was predeceased by : his parents, Michael Salerno and Eva Salerno. He is survived by : his wife Phyl Salerno; his daughters, Dawn Howe (Craig) and Colleen Feeley (Jeff); his grandchildren, Maddie, Derek Howe and Payton; his daughters, Caiden and Rylan Feeley; his sister Susan Ciccone (Jim); his sister-in-law Carol Kinney (Tom); and his nieces and nephews, Jackie, Jim Burke, Christine Prince, Kathy, Bryan Arnault, Kristofer, Jamie Ciccone and Charlie Beck.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made in his memory to St. Jude Children's hospital.
