She was predeceased by: her parents, Vance Condary Mullis and Ruth Carriker Mullis; her husband James Edgar McBride, Jr.; her siblings, V. C., Harvey, Kenneth, Howard, Jack, Gene, Norris, Rachel Starnes, Joyce Belk and Sara Jo Watson; her sons, James Edgar McBride III (Rebecca) and Thomas Ranson McBride (Cherie); her grandchildren, James McBride (David), Ashlea Gaddy (Garrett), Hannah Stone (Josh) and Heather Collins (Justin); and her great grandchildren, Brody, Emerson, Carter and Tate.
She is survived by: her siblings, Doris McClain, Dale Mullis, Jim Mullis and Sylvia Lemmond.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to Atrium Health's Union County Hospice or The Tunnel to Towers Foundation in Vera's honor.
