He was predeceased by: his parents, Ira Simpson and Rachel Simpson; his wife Brenda "Jack" Simpson; his son Jerry "Scott" Simpson; and his siblings, Judy Herron and Johnny Simpson.
He is survived by: his siblings, Vickie Simpson, Toby Simpson, Kathy Edwards, Randy Simpson, Pam Stearns and Lisa Sepahrom; his children, Tammy Howell (Michael) and Will Simpson (Ronda); and his grandchildren, Brittany Clute (Alex), Katie Simpson Austin (Jason), Taylor Simpson, Luke Simpson (Abbey), Cole, Garrett and Landon Simpson. He is also survived by three great grandchildren.
The family requests donations be considered in lieu of flowers to First Baptist Church of Indian Trail, PO Box 549, Indian Trail, NC 28079.
